IMPORTANT NOTICE: Beginning on June 14, 2008, The Cheesecake Factory restaurants resumed offering fresh tomatoes in most of our menu items and in most of our locations. We will be offering only red and roma tomatoes that are grown in the United States in regions deemed safe by the Food & Drug Administration.
Although we had no tomato-related illnesses reported from guests as a result of consuming our products and none of our products were recalled by our suppliers, we chose to temporarily remove all fresh tomato products from our menu while the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) were investigating a link between red, roma and plum tomatoes and an outbreak of salmonella.
We take food safety very seriously, and our guests' health and safety are our top priorities. We are returning red and roma tomato products to our menu items because we are confident that, based on our suppliers' geographic regions and the FDA's recommendations, they post no risk to our guests and staff. We will continue to monitor this situation and keep you updated should any new developments arise.
For more information, please visit the CDC and FDA websites at www.cdc.gov and www.fda.gov.
